Overview

“Bench” is a communication app my group and I created for our usability prototype assignment during my Bachelor’s of IT degree. On this assignment, my group members and I must create a complete prototype of an app that can help students during online learning during the pandemics. We came up with the idea based on our user research. We made this UI prototype using Figma. We named this app “Bench”, inspired by benches that we usually find at parks where people can sit and freely talk to each other.

Goals

The goal of this project group is to assist students in learning online during the pandemic. My group and I have chosen to focus on the topic of communication, we want to provide a platform for students to communicate and discuss with fellow students as well as their tutors. We also aim to provide a forum for exchanging information about campus assignments.

Process

Sketches

In this group project, my task is to design the "Create a Bench" feature, similar to creating a group. I began designing several screens by sketching them along with their flow. I also created several logo sketches for the "Bench" application.

Prototype Design

As a group, we then created a high-fidelity prototype using Figma. The available features include creating a park, creating a bench, joining a park, joining a bench, user chatting, user settings, and the search page.
